Early experiences can shape the beliefs we carry about ourselves, other people, and the world. At the time those beliefs form, they serve a protective purpose. They help make sense of confusing experiences, anticipate danger, or find ways to stay safe.
But beliefs that were once protective can outlive their usefulness. When they long after the original threat has passed, they begin to limit how we see ourselves and how we move through the world.
The TAP-Beliefs Tree below is designed to help you gently notice beliefs that may have developed during the experiences brought up in TAP-Pathways, and to consider whether they’re still serving you today.
