Learn more about the hidden patterns of trauma

Clients often dismiss hidden trauma as “not that bad” or “others had it worse.”

The TAP-Profile helps people see the reality of their adaptations, how they have served them, and the cost they’ve taken.

The adjustments made to therapeutic protocols based on TAP results can provide a safer starting point and keep therapy focused.

The Trauma Adaptation Profile™

The Trauma Adaptation Profile™ (TAP-Profile) identifies traces of trauma - adaptations you’ve made to survive. Though these turn out to be strengths, unless trauma is healed, they inhibit and confuse you.

The clinician-developed, research-informed tool identifies patterns of thinking, feeling, and behavior.

The TAP Self-Reflection Quiz, TAP-Beliefs Tree, and TAP-Pathways™ are for educational use and personal insight. They offer a starting point . You get immediate feedback. You’re welcome to take any of these.

The Trauma Adaptation Profiles™ (TAP-LF and TAP-SF) are used by therapists to help identify and work with specific trauma adaptation patterns.

The TAP-Profile™ is a proprietary framework presented in the forthcoming book Wired Different (2027). These tools are intended to support education, self-awareness, and therapeutic exploration. They’re not diagnostic instruments and are not a substitute for a comprehensive psychological evaluation.
